Investigation on the cognition of AIDS core information among college students in a normal university in Shenyang
Objective To understand the core knowledge of AIDS among college students,and to provide reference for AIDS prevention and control and health education.Methods The self-designed core information questionnaire of HIV/AIDS prevention and education was used to conduct an online survey among students of a normal university in Shenyang through its website and campus Wechat public account during the World AIDS Day publicity campaign on December 1,2020.According to the survey data and the data of 10 external related literatures introduced,the students'mastery of AIDS knowledge was compared and analyzed.Results The effective number of the online survey was 5 452 students,male to female ratio was about 1∶4.The reliability and validity coefficients of the questionnaire were 0.936 and 0.712 respectively.The average correct rate of 10 questions in the questionnaire was 67.15%,which was lower than the average level of external related papers.Among them,the answer with the lowest correct rate was"homosexuality is the most important transmission of AIDS among young students",the correct rate was only 26.49%.The correct answer rate of caring and compassion for HIV/AIDS patients was 91.94%,which was significantly higher than that of external related papers.The average correct answer rate of male was higher than female,senior was better than junior,student cadre was better than non-student cadre,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).Conclusion There was still a certain gap in the mastery of AIDS core information among the students in this school compared with the national requirements.In the future,we should focus on the weak links and strengthen the health education,prevention and control of HIV/AIDS.
