Study on the correlation and matching of five Aedes mosquito density surveillance methods
Objective To compare the correlation and corresponding relationship of 5 different Aedes mosquito surveillance methods, and to provide basis for the reasonable selection of surveillance method. Methods From August to October 2021,May to October 2022,the Breteau index method,mosq-ovitraph method, double mosquito net method,human-baited landing method and BG-Trap method were used to simultaneously collect Aedes mosquitoes in residential areas and parks in 55 sites of 6 streets in Longhua District,Shenzhen.Non-parametric test and ROC curve were used for statistical analysis. Results The surveillance data of Breteau index method was lower than that of mosq-ovitrap method, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.000 1).The data of double mosquito net method was lower than mosq-ovitraph method,human-baited landing method and BG-Trap method, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.000 1).No significant difference between the surveillance data of mosq-ovitraph method and human-baited landing method,BG-Trap(P=0.096,P=0.211).Under the existing evaluation indexes, some surveillance methods could find corresponding values,BI=5,corresponding to MOI=7.42,MOI=10,corresponding to BI=6.50.The trap index of double mosquito net method was 0.9(or 2),the index of human-baited landing method and BG-Trap method were 7.00 and 5.00 respectively. The trap index of double mosquito net method was 4 or 6,and the index of human-baited landing method and BG-Trap method were 7.00 and 9.00,or 11.00 and 9.00 respectively. Conclusion In the surveillance of adult Aedes mosquito in Shenzhen, different methods could be selected based on timeliness, accessibility, safety and objectivity.
