Objective To investigate the epidemiology characteristics of hand, foot and mouth disease(HFMD)cluster in a kindergarten in Aketao county,to provide reference for disposing HFMD in kindergarten. Methods Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to conduct an epidemiological investigation on an aggregated epidemic of HFMD cases in a kindergarten in Aktao county,Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang in October 2021.The stool samples and kindergarten environment samples(tables and chairs, toys, door handles, etc.)were collected for detecting Enterovirus A71(EV-A71),Coxsackie virus A16(CV-A16),Coxsackie virus A6(CV-A6)and general Enterovirus(HEV)by fluorescence quantitative PCR.207 kindergarten teachers and 449 parents of children in the county were investigated by electronic questionnaire on the knowledge of hand, foot, mouth disease. Results The aggregated epidemic lasted for 14 days, with the incidence of 11 children, the attack rate was 2.18%(11/504).The clinical symptoms were mainly rash(100.00%)and fever(54.55%),7 cases were positive, including 1 for CV-A6 and 6 for HEV,and 1 of 18 environmental samples was positive for HEV.The awareness about HFMD of kindergarten teachers(90.82%)was higher than that of parents(73.72%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion This aggregated epidemic of HFMD was caused by CV-A6 and HEV.It is should pay more attention to HFMD which caused by CV-A6,and strengthen health education.
