Epidemiological characteristics of tick-borne encephalitis in China,2018-2023
Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of tick-bome encephalitis(TBE)in China from 2018 to 2023,explore the development pattern of TBE,and provide a scientific basis for effective prevention and control of TBE.Methods The case data of TBE in China spanning from 2018 to 2023 was collected through the China Information System for Diseases Control and Prevention(CISDCP),followed by descriptive epidemiological analysis. Results Between 2018 to 2023,a total of 656 TBE cases were reported in China, with an average annual incidence of 0.008 per 100,000 individuals.Among these cases, there were 2 fatalities, yielding a case fatality rate of 0.30%.The distribution of TBE was mainly concentrated in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,Heilongjiang Province and Jilin Province, accounted for 98.6%of the total number of reported cases. The average annual incidence rate of TBE in these regions was 0.06-0.21 per 100,000 individuals. The average laboratory confirmation rate of TBE cases was 53.35%,with significant regional differences(P<0.05).The number of TBE cases in the months of May to July, accounted for 89.33%of the total cases, indicated a peak in incidence during these months.TBE predominantly affected farmers, housewives and unemployed individuals, and workers, with ratios of 46.95%,27.13%and 11.43%,respectively.The majority of reported cases of TBE in China were concentrated in the age group of 40-69,with more cases in males than females. The highest proportion was observed in the age group of 50-59(37.65%).Conclusion From 2018 to 2023,reported cases of TBE in China were mainly concentrated in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,Heilongjiang and Jilin Province. The peak months for the incidence of TBE were May-July,the occupational composition of the population peaks among farmers, housewives and unemployed individuals, and workers,as well as the 50-59 age group.
