Analysis on western blot band patterns of 700 infected people with HIV-1 antibody positive in Liaoning province
Objective To analyze band patterns of HIV-1 antibody positive samples tested by western blot(WB),to understand the distribution pattern and characteristics of HIV-1 infected patients in Liaoning province. Methods Statistical analysis was carried out for band patterns of HIV-1 antibody positive samples detected by WB in the confirmed laboratory of Liaoning Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention from 2013 to 2020.Results In 700 samples of HIV-1 antibody positive,36.9%were total bands,89.3%were more than 7 bands. The positive rate of anti-env:gp160 was 100.0%,gp120 was 100.0%,gp41 was 99.7%.The positive rate of anti-pol:p66 was 94.7%,p51 was 91.1%,p31 was 94.4%.Of the anti-gag,except p24 was 98.7%,p55 and p17 positive rate were low,p55 was 47.0%,p17 was 66.0%.The positive rate of p55 in female was higher than that in male, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference in the positive rate of p66,p51,p55,p24 and p17 between different ages was statistically significant(P<0.05).The positive rate of p66,p51 and p55 were the highest in the eldly aged group, and p66,p51,p24 and p17 were the highest in the juvenile group. The differences of positive rate of p55,p24 and p17 appeared statistically significances in different populations(P<0.05).Conclusion Most of the HIV-1 antibody positive samples, possessed 7 bands or more. There was significant difference in the detection of WB bands patlems between the people with different gender, age and population.Young and middle aged and male populations were at high risk of HIV-1infection.
