Analysis of Ureaplasma urealyticum infection and drug resistance in 222 patients with urogenital diseases
Objective To understand the current situation of Ureaplasma urealyticum infection, distribution and drug resistance in the population with genitourinary diseases,to provide support to the prevention and treatment of Ureaplasma urealyticum infection. Methods The samples of urethral or genital tract secretions were randomly collected from the People's Hospital of Sichuan Province from February 2022 to April 2023,Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect Ureaplasma urealyticum,as well as Chlamydia trachomatis was detected.Drug susceptibility test was performed on Ureaplasma urealyticum positive samples. Results Of the 222 patient samples collected,55 cases were positive for Ureaplasma urealyticum, with a positive rate of 24.77%,1 case was positive for Chlamydia trachomatis, with a positive rate of 0.45%.The positive rate of Ureaplasma urealyticum in female with genitourinary infections was higher than that in male, which was 40.98%and 18.63%,respectively.The positive rate was highest in the age 30-34 years(29.87%),lowest in the age 20-24 years(14.29%).Drug susceptibility testing showed that Ureaplasma urealyticum had the lowest resistance rate to tetracycline(0.61%),followed by macrolide with an average resistance rate of not more than 20%,the highest resistance rate was to fluoroquinolones(49.55%).Conclusion The infection rate of Ureaplasma urealyticum was significantly higher than that of Chlamydia trachomatis, tetracyclines and macrolides could be used in Ureaplasma urealyticum infection cases.
