To analyze the macroscopic distribution characteristics of different exceedance probability wave heights in global waves, based on the five-year FHDI-GNWM global wave data from 2011 to 2015,the spatial macroscopic distribution patterns of different exceedance probabilities significant wave heights Hs worldwide were studied. The research shows that H,with different exceedance probabilities exhibit obvious strong extremes and weak middles globally. For the Northwest Pacific,North Atlantic, and South Atlantic,Hs with different exceedance probabilities show a"first increase then decrease"trend with increasing latitude. For the Eastern Pacific,Hs with different exceedance probabilities exhibit a distinct pattern of being strong in the south and weak in the north, forming a distinct high-value zone near 55°S.For the Indian Ocean,a distinct high-value zone is formed near 50°S,and then decreases northward along the latitude zone.
