The activity recovery of metamorphic magnesium oxide(MgO)under high temperature activation and the effect of MgO activity on the mechanical strength of hydration products were studied. The mechanism by which different active MgO affects the properties of the test blocks was analyzed using X-ray diffractometer(XRD),thermogravimetric analysis differential scanning calorimetry(TG-DSC),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR).The results show that the activity of MgO increases first and then decreases with the increase of sintering temperature, and reaching a maximum of 41%at 350 ℃.When the sintering temperature of metamorphic MgO is below 200 ℃,the strength of BMSC increases with the increase temperature; When the sintering temperature is between 200~350 ℃,the strength of BMSC decreases with the increase of temperature; When the temperature exceeds 350 ℃,the strength of BMSC increases with the increase of temperature.
