The large CSD mud pump impeller is seriously worn in medium-coarse sand conveying, resulting in a decrease in the performance of the mud pump and an increase in fuel consumption.According to the current status of determining the timing of impeller replacement through the vibration of mud pump during construction, this paper analyzes the efficiency change characteristics of mud pump in different wear stages, compares the cost input, capacity improvement and overall economic benefits of pump impeller replacement under different cumulative conveying volumes, and provides guidance for optimizing mud pump impeller replacement strategies. The results indicate that when the impeller is replaced at 2 million m3 compared with 3 million m3 for a 10 million m3 project,80.1 tons of fuel can be saved, and when the cumulative conveying volume is 2.5 million m3,it is recommended to replace the impeller after reaching 3 million m3 or scrapping. The replacement strategy of the impeller of the mud pump can significantly reduce construction costs, and achieve energy conservation and emission reduction.
