Sheet pile breakwater is a type of breakwater structure with high adaptability to deep soft soil foundation,which is seldom used at home and abroad.By taking an overseas sheet pile breakwater project as an example,designed wave element section tests were conducted with irregular waves on sections at different water depths,to judge the stability of the bottom protection stones and sand cushion,and measure the amount of overtopping flux and the wave force distribution on the wave-facing side of the breakwater to verify the safety and rationality of the structure.Finally,the test results were compared with the calculation results of domestic and foreign design code formulas.The results show that the wave force and overtopping results obtained from the test are on the safe side,and the design elevation of the breakwater is suitable.The difference between the calculation results of the design code formulas and the test values under different wave conditions is different.When designing specific projects,it is necessary to combine the calculation of the design code formulas with the physical model tests,and strive to make the design parameters reasonable to ensure the safety of the structure of the breakwater itself and the protected harbor area.
