The impact of seawall wave overtopping on the stability of armor blocks and embankment roads is a crucial consideration in coastal engineering projects.Taking the subgrade project of the Gwadar Port Eastern Bay Expressway in Pakistan as an example, for the areas lacking marine hydrological data along"the Belt and Road",the design wave parameters of the engineering sea area were deduced by using the reanalysis data, and the short-term measured wave data were used to revised.By employing the SWAN wave model to construct a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model of the nearshore area, the design wave parameters of the project area under extreme high water level and design high water level were deduced.Based on the derived wave characteristics, physical model tests of wave section were conducted to address the embankment top elevation, wave overtopping discharge, and the stability of structures such as wave barriers and armor blocks for the Eastern Bay Expressway(coastal side)construction. In response to observed displacement and instability issues with the banket blocks during testing, optimization measures were proposed to provide reference for coastal road engineering design.
