The drilling and blasting method is widely used in the excavation of underground caverns of domestic pumped storage power stations,which has many shortcomings,such as many potential safety hazards,long construction period,large labor input,low degree of mechanization,many process conversions,and poor working environment.TBM excavation for underground chambers of pumped storage power station can shorten the overall excavation period and improve the safety and progressiveness of the construction of pumped storage power station,which is conducive to promoting the integration and modularization of the design of pumped storage power station,ensuring the safety,quality and progress of the project,and providing experience for similar projects.
