Research and application of active safety warning technology for pedestrians crossing unsigned intersections on highways
The essence of rural roads determines that they have the characteristics of"multiple points, wide areas, and scattered distribution"when connecting to main roads. However, the current situation of intersections generally has problems such as poor visibility, insufficient sight distance, lack of access management and traffic control, incomplete safety facilities, relatively weak safety awareness of traffic participants, and large blindness and arbitrariness in traffic behavior, laying safety hazards for road traffic safety,it has always been a pain point and difficulty in rural road traffic safety management. In recent years, there has been an increasing construction of warnings for rural road intersections, and the investment of managers has also increased. However, many of them are conventional static warning functions, and traditional static prevention methods cannot perceive and judge the operational information of road traffic participants.Simply amplifying static information can often cause information fatigue for drivers, and cannot achieve the goal of timely reminders. This article utilizes technologies such as intelligent perception and computer technology to develop an active safety warning technology for pedestrians crossing unsignalized intersections on highways. It actively detects and warns people and vehicles at intersections to improve traffic safety at intersections.
