Research on the propagation characteristics of internal waves over banked terrain
A slight external perturbation may trigger the phenomenon of internal waves(IWs)at the density stratification level.The slope is the submerged portion of the coastal zone,which can generally be generalized as a slope.When IWs propagate on a slope,the waveforms,propagation characteristics,and energies are very different from those of a flat slope.IWs are more likely to pose a significant threat to submerged structures.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the propagation characteristics of IWs on bank slopes to maintain the safety and stability of water buildings.In this paper,the IW related research of scholars at home and abroad is organized,and the research results in two aspects,namely,the main research methods of internal waves and the propagation characteristics of IWs on bank slopes,are summarized.At the end of the paper,the research related to IWs is summarized.
