Study on mechanical properties of granite under chemical erosion
To study the mechanical damage characteristics of granite under chemical erosion conditions,a series of uniaxial compression tests were carried out in this study for granite in Ji'an area under different erosion times of acid and alkaline solutions. The effect of chemical erosion on the physical and mechanical damage mechanisms and cracking failure of granite was evaluated, while the relationship between the effect of chemical erosion time on mechanical parameters was quantitatively analyzed. The study found that granite compressive strength and elastic modulus are inversely proportional to erosion time. The correlation coefficients between erosion time and uniaxial compressive strength, elastic modulus, porosity, and wave velocity were-0.96,-0.98,0.91,and-0.95,respectively.The number of cracks in granite after acid and alkali attack increased and no penetrating cracks appeared.
