This paper mainly discusses the application of big data technology and smart city technology in urban and rural planning.Big data technology formulates planning schemes through data analysis and realizes the integration of multiple goals;smart city technology includes the Internet of Things,big data analysis,artificial intelligence,and 5G-era technologies,etc.,which play a role in spatial planning,key applications,smart travel and life,etc.;communication technologies such as broadband technology can build data centers for urban and rural planning,achieve balanced urban development,and create smart living.
