With the continuous evolution of power system and the rise of smart grid,it puts forward higher requirements for relay protection fault diagnosis and processing technology,so as to meet the operation needs of smart grid.This paper discusses the smart grid relay protection,clear its definition,characteristics and functions,etc.,on this basis,respectively discusses the smart grid relay protection fault diagnosis and processing technology,help to promote the relay protection fault diagnosis and processing level,and provide technical support for the safe and efficient operation of smart grid.
