Diagnosis and treatment of medial clavicular fracture with lateral clavicular plate inversion without transarticular fixation
Objective To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of medial clavicle fracture by lateral clavicle plate without transarticular fixation. Methods A retrospective analysis of 8 patients with medial clavicle fractures admitted to the Third People's Hospital of Jining from February 2019 to August 2021 was performed using an inverted lateral clavicle plate without transarticular fixation to the medial clavicle, and the Constant-Murley score was applied postoperatively to evaluate the shoulder function and pain of the patients after treatment. Results None of the 8 patients had postoperative incision infection, and all achieved fracture reduction and fracture healing, with an average healing time of 3 months.None had postoperative chronic sternoclavicular joint pain, with an average Constant-Murley score of 88.Conclusions For unstable medial clavicle fractures, lateral clavicle plate inversion can be used without transarticular fixation of the clavicle if there is at least one effective bone block with an area of more than 2 cm.Satisfactory therapeutic results will be obtained.
