A new type of tissue-engineered scaffold restoration combined with perioperative rehabilitation in knee articular cartilage injury:a case report
Objective To provide clinical evidence in the treatment of knee cartilage injury with a new type tissue-engineered scaffold restoration and individualized perioperative rehabilitation.Methods Detailed procedures for the new type of tissue-engineered scaffold restoration and program of individualized perioperative rehabilitation were displayed through one clinical example with osteochondral knee joint injury.Results At 22 months after surgery,observable improvement in knee function,balance and gait(close to normal)was noted.The patient could run and MRI showed good cartilage healing.The pain was considerably relieved as well.Conclusions For patients with knee cartilage injury,new type of tissue-engineered scaffold restoration with perioperative rehabilitation is helpful to restore knee function and sport ability.
