Imaging features of clear cell sarcoma of soft tissue
Objective To analyze the imaging features of clear cell sarcoma of soft tissue(CCS)to improve the understanding and diagnosis of it.Methods CT and MRI imaging data of 14 patients with CCS confirmed by surgical pathology from January 2014 to June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, and relevant literature was reviewed to analyze the imaging characteristics. Results The tumor distribution was as follows:soft tissue around the joints of the limbs(12/14),soft tissue around the ilium(1/14),and soft tissue around the neck(1/14).9 cases received MRI plain scan and enhanced examination:T1WI images showed slightly high signal(5/9),mixed high signal(4/9);On T2WI images, the tumors showed high signal(2/9)and mixed high signal(7/9),including 6 cases with linear low signal. All of them were obviously heterogeneous reinforcement.12 cases underwent CT plain scan and enhanced scan:soft tissue density shadow, boundary ambiguity(9/12),bone destruction(6/12),moderate uneven enhancement(6/12)or obvious uneven enhancement(5/12).Conclusions CCS of musculoskeletal system is more common in the soft tissues of limbs. On MRI,T1WI shows slightly high signal,T2WI shows mixed high signal, and there may be linear low signal. Most of them are significantly uneven reinforcement.CT shows a soft tissue density shadow with indistinct boundary.
