The Outstanding Contributions of Deng Xiaoping's Theory to the Sinicization and the Modernization of Marxism
At the time of the founding of Deng Xiaoping's Theory,the Party had not yet formally put forward the proposition of the"sinicization and modernization of Marxism",therefore,to grasp the contribution of Deng Xiaoping's Theory to the sinicization and modernization of Marxism,it is necessary to clarify the relationship between this proposition and the"sinicization of Marxism",i.e.,it is a deepening of the connotation of the latter,which in turn contains the meaning of modernization.As a result,the contributions of Deng Xiaoping's theory to the sinicization of Marxism are mainly:the development of a scientific view of Marxism by strengthening the unity of emancipation of the mind and seeking truth from facts;the laying of a theoretical foundation for the practice of reform and opening up by applying the doctrine of the fundamental contradictions of society in the materialist concept of history,as well as the development of the worldview and methodology of Marxism;and the development of the theory of scientific socialism by means of theoretical summaries on the nature of and the road to socialism.Its contributions to the modernization of Marxism are mainly:a keen grasp of the new theme of the times,a profound revelation of the problems of the times faced by China under the new theme of the times,and a systematic exposition of the universal contribution to the realization of this new problem of the times.
