Diagnostic value of transvaginal ultrasonography for premature ovarian failure and analysis of its hemodynamic characteristics
Objective To analyze the diagnostic value of transvaginal ultrasonography for premature ovarian failure and its hemodynamic characteristics. Methods Forty patients diagnosed with premature ovarian failure through laboratory tests at The 903 Hospital of the PLA Joint Logistics Support Force from January 2021 to December 2022 were included in the observation group.A case-control study design was employed, with an additional 40 healthy volunteers who underwent physical examinations at the same hospital included in the control group. Both groups underwent transvaginal ultrasonography. The ovarian ultrasound characteristics and hemodynamic status were compared between the two groups.Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to analyze the value of transvaginal ultrasonography in diagnosing premature ovarian failure. Results The endometrial thickness, uterine volume, follicle number, and ovarian volume in the observation group were(0.32±0.05)cm,(22.98±2.27)cm3,(1.32±0.13),and(4.48±0.05)cm3,respectively,which were significantly lower than those in the control group[(0.69±0.08)cm,(32.65±3.32)cm3,(5.79±0.65),and(6.25±0.12)cm3,t=24.80,15.20,42.64,86.11,all P<0.05).The peak systolic flow rate and end-diastolic flow rate of the arteries in the observation group were(10.13±2.78)cm/s and(3.42±1.06)cm/s,respectively,which were significantly lower than those in the control group[(23.18±5.12)cm/s,(7.59±1.88)cm/s,t=14.16,12.22,both P<0.05].Additionally,the pulsatility index and resistance index in the observation group were(2.41±0.36)and(0.89±0.16),respectively,which were significantly higher than those in the control group[(1.32±0.35),(0.59±0.13),t=13.73,9.20,both P<0.05].The results of the receiver operating characteristic curve analysis indicated that the ultrasound features had considerable diagnostic value for patients with premature ovarian failure(AUC=0.946,0.920,0.904,0.964).Conclusion Transvaginal ultrasonography is highly valuable in diagnosing patients with premature ovarian failure, and the observed hemodynamic changes can provide evidence for the treatment of these patients.
