Study on the relationship between the changes of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, procalcitonin level and secondary infection in patients with severe acute pancreatitis
Objective To investigate the relationship between neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR),procalcitonin(PCT)and secondary infection in patients with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods A total of 226 patients with SAP from May 2018 to September 2020 were selected for the study.According to the occurrence of secondary infection, the patients were divided into infection group(n=32)and non-infection group(n=94).Record the general data and indicators of patients.Identify the pathogens of patients.Use CT to diagnose and record the imaging data of patients. Results On the 1st,5th,8th and 15th day after admission, the level of lymphocyte(LYM)in the infected group was lower than that in the non-infected group, while the levels of PCT and NLR in the infected group were higher than those in the non-infected group. On the 1st and 5th day after admission, the level of neutrophils(NE)in the infected group was higher than that in the non-infected group. The area under the ROC curve(AUC)of NLR,NE,LYM and PCT for predicting secondary infection in patients with SAP were 0.861,0.742,0.726 and 0.852 respectively. Conclusion NLR and PCT can be used as clinical indicators to predict secondary infection in patients with SAP,and the predictive efficiency is high.
