Objective To study the effect of exercise training on hypotension in hemodialysis patients under the empowerment theory. Methods A total of 160 patients who underwent hemodialysis treatment in Huai′an First People′s Hospital from January 2022 to February 2024 were prospectively selected and randomly divided into a control group and a study group, with 80 cases in each group. The control group was traditional routine nursing, and the research group was given exercise training based on the empowerment theory on the basis of the control group. The incidence of hypotension,self-management ability, recovery of blood pressure levels, and improvement in quality of life were compared before and 2 weeks after training. Results Before education, there was no significant difference in the scores of self-management ability and each dimension of Kidney Disease Questionnaire(KDQ)between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of hypotension in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.737,P<0.05).Compared with before eduation, the systolic, diastolic pressure and pulse pressure difference increased in two groups increased after 2 weeks of education, and the study group was greater than the control group(P<0.05).The medication management, diet management, hypotension management, daily life management, reasonable exercise and bad mood management of the two groups increased, and those in the study group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).Medication,diet,hypotension,daily life, reasonable exercise and bad mood management increased in both groups;physical symptoms, depression, fatigue, interpersonal relationships and frustration in the KDQ scale increased in both groups, the study group was higher than the control group(t=4.171、4.585,6.302,4.074,4.653,P<0.05).Conclusion Exercise training based on empowerment theory can improve blood pressure in hemodialysis patients and enhance their self-management ability and quality of life.
