Research progress on the origin and mechanism of gastric squamous cell carcinoma
Gastric squamous cell carcinoma is a rare gastric malignant tumor.Due to its unclear early symptoms,it is often discovered in the late stage, resulting in poor treatment outcomes and relatively poor prognosis.Although there are clear diagnostic criteria for the disease, there is no clear consensus of its source and mechanism. At present, regarding the pathogenesis of gastric squamous cell carcinoma, most scholars relatively agree with the theory of gastric mucosal squamous cell metaplasia.Other theories, such as pluripotent stem cell transformation, ectopic squamous cell differentiation, adenocarcinoma into squamous cell differentiation, and the occurrence of squamous cell carcinoma caused by other reasons, still need more research to further confirm. This paper mainly expounds and summarizes the origin and mechanism of the above theories,in order to provide reference for the subsequent research.
