A New Step for Chinese Economics to the World——An Investigation Based on the Economic Papers Submitted by the China Chapter at the Annual Meeting of the Institute of Pacific Relations
China Institute of Pacific Relations(IPR)was established in 1925 and dissolved in 1950.It was a group of public diplomacy and academic research led by the elites of politics, business and academia, with the involvement of economic practitioners and economists. As a chapter of the IPR,a long-lasting and influential international non-governmental organization in the Pacific region during the Republic of China era, members of the China Chapter mainly attended the first nine annual meetings of the IPR and presented academic papers on various topics, including economics. These economics studies presented in English literature introduce modern western survey methods, open up new areas of discussion including the Chinese rural economy, modern Chinese industrialization and other issues, and launch a systematic and dynamic examination of related fields, presenting a system of economic research including theoretical studies, reality studies, strategy studies and other topics, making this the first time that the results of economics from China have been put on the international stage in a large-scale and systematic way, demonstrating the frontiers of China's economic research, expanding the influence of Chinese economic scholars in the international arena, and constituting a new stride for China's economics to reach out to the world.
