Does Judicial Integration Help Narrow Regional Development Gaps
This paper extends judicial integration to the growth convergence theoretical model.Based on the China Ju-dicial Documents Network Data from 2011 to 2020 and 271 prefecture-level cities. The Ⅳ-2SLS estimation and spatial Du-bin model verify the influence of judicial integration on the growth gap.The results show that judicial integration significant-ly promotes the inter-city growth gap.The promotion effect of judicial integration on the growth gap presents regional hetero-geneity.Intra-provincial and nearest inter-provincial judicial integration significantly promote the growth gap,but far in-ter-provincial judicial integration has no significant effect on the growth gap.The judicial integration of contract and creditor's rights disputes, corporate law,and intellectual property rights cases significantly promoted the growth gap, while the judicial integration of criminal, traffic, and other civil cases did not influence the development gap of inter-city growth significantly. There is a significant spatial spillover effect in the influence of judicial integration on the growth gap and shows the characteristics of geographical attenuation.
