Research advances in the theoretical basis and application prospects of mitochondrial transplantation in the treatment of sepsis
Mitochondria are essential components of cellular architecture, serving as the primary site of energy production and participating in processes such as cell differentiation, cell signaling and apoptosis.Mitochondrial damage including structural damage, oxidative damage, calcium overload, dynamic damage and autophagy abnormalities, etc is a major cause of death in sepsis. In recent years, many researchers have attempted to treat sepsis by using mitochondrial transplantation, hoping to provide new treatment options for patients. This article reviews the latest treatment strategy of mitochondrial transplantation and discusses its application prospects in sepsis treatment in order to provide a theoretical basis and research direction for understanding the pathogenesis of sepsis and exploring new treatment methods.
