Study on ammonia nitrogen dynamic adsorption characteristics of natural zeolites modified by sodium nitrate combined with calcination
Aims:A kind of adsorbent with high ammonia nitrogen adsorption performance was developed by using sodium nitrate impregnation combined with roasting to modify natural zeolites(NZ).The dynamic adsorption characteristics and penetration curve of modified NZ for ammonia nitrogen in water were studied, and the dynamic adsorption capacity of NZ was compared with that of NZ.Methods:The removal efficiency and penetration curve of ammonia nitrogen under different initial mass concentration, influence flow and column depth conditions were investigated;and the Thomas model,Yoon-Nelson model and BDST model were applied to simulate the adsorption process. Results:When the initial ammonia nitrogen mass concentration was 5 mg·L-1,the column depth was 8 cm.The influent flow was 20 mL·min-1;and the adsorption capacity of ammonia nitrogen reached 6.81 mg·g-1,which was much higher than the 2.18 mg·g-1 of NZ.Conclusions:Sodium nitrate combined roasting modified zeolites can improve the adsorption capacity of ammonia nitrogen;and the results of dynamic flow experiment provide favorable guidance for the practical application of modified zeolites.
