Study on modification of corn starch adhesive for wood
With corn starch as raw material, sodium hypochlorite as oxidant of starch , APS (ammonium persulfate) as oxidant of polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) ,an adhesive for wood was prepared by graft modification between oxidized corn starch and PVA under alkaline condition. The influences of PVA concentration,nano-MMT(nano-montmorillonite) and solid content were investigated on dry-bonding strength or wet-bonding strength of starch adhesive. The results showed that the corresponding starch adhesive had the reversely best combination property when solid content was 28.57%,mass fractions of PVA and nano-MMT were 5% and 2% respectively.
