Wood adhesive prepared by compound between modified starch grafted by acrylamide and emulsifiable MDI
With potato oxidized starch as raw material, potassium persulfate (KPS) as initiator, and acrylamide (AM) as grafting monomer, the main agent of oxidized starch grafted by AM was prepared. Then, the wood starch adhesive was prepared by compound between main agent and emulsifiable MDI (diphenyl methane diisocyanate). The research results showed that the optimal process conditions of preparing main agent were preferred when mass ratio of m (potato oxidized starch) ∶ m (AM) was 3.0∶ 1,reaction temperature was 70 ℃,reaction time was 120 min,and adding time of initiator was 40 min.The dry (wet) bonding strengths of corresponding wood starch adhesive were obviously increased when the main agent prepared by optimal process conditions and the emulsifiable MDI were mixed. The emulsifiable MDI content could be determined by requirement of bonding strength, but should not be more than 6% in main agent mass.
