Comparative Study on the Effect of Predicting Genomic Breeding Values for Laying Traits of Xiangjia Heifeng S1 Line Chicken Using BLUP and Bayes Methods
The aim of this paper was to evaluate the genetic parameters of laying traits of S1 line of Xiangjia Heifeng chick-ens,compare the accuracy of genomic prediction of laying traits of broiler chickens by BLUP and Bayes methods,and provide basis for selection and breeding value estimation of S1 line of Xiangjia Heifeng chickens.In this study,the heritability and genetic corre-lation of age at the first egg,40-week egg production and 43-week average egg weight were estimated by Average Information Re-stricted Maximum Likelihood(AIREML)algorithm using ASREML software for egg production traits of 2 886 yellow-feathered broiler lines,respectively,and a comparative study was carried out to investigate the effect of the predicted breeding values of egg Laying traits based on the PBLUP,SSGBLUP,GBLUP and BayesA,BayesB,BayesC,models.The results showed that the herita-bility of age at the first egg was 0.263-0.429,the heritability of 40-week egg production was 0.213-0.359 and the heritability of 43-week egg weight was 0.441-0.553.The genetic and phenotypic correlations between age at the first egg with egg production and 43-week egg weight were-0.72 and 0.10,respectively and the phenotypic correlations were-0.57 and 0.10.The genetic and phenotypic correlation coefficients between 40-week egg production and 43-week egg weight were-0.29 and-0.21,respectively.The BayesB method had the highest accuracy of 0.236 and 0.251 in genomic prediction accuracy for age at the first egg and 40-week egg production,respectively.BayesC method had the highest accuracy of 0.345 for 43-week egg weight.Therefore,age at the first egg and 40-week egg production were of medium heritability,and the 43-week egg weight was a moderately high heritability trait.There was a strong negative genetic correlation between age at the first egg and 40-week egg production,and a low positive genetic correlation with 43-week egg weight.There was a certain degree of negative genetic correlation between 40-week egg pro-duction and 43-week egg weight.The genomic prediction accuracy of Bayes was higher than that of BLUP method for age at the first egg,the calculation time of Bayes method was much longer than that of GBLUP.For 40-week egg production,the BayesB method had the highest prediction accuracy.BayesC method had the highest accuracy for 43-week egg weights.In this study.In conclusion,the application of BayesB method in Xiangjia Heifeng S1 line chicken for Laying Traits would obtain the highest accu-racy of breeding value estimation.
