Research Progress on the Influence of lncRNA on the Traits of Feed Efficiency in Livestock and Poultry
Feed efficiency is one of the key economic traits in livestock and poultry, directly affecting breeding costs and economic benefits. The genetic basis of feed efficiency traits in livestock and poultry is complex and diverse, involving multi-gene expression, network regulation, and signal transduction.Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs),which are RNA molecules longer than 200 nucleotides, play important roles in the regulation of gene expression. They are closely related to the processes such as feed intake, energy metabolism, muscle development, and lipid metabolism, and have a significant regulatory effection on feed ef-ficiency traits in livestock and poultry. This paper summarized recent research progress on feed efficiency traits in livestock and poultry, aiming to elucidate the molecular regulatory mechanisms of these traits, which would provide new perspectives for the im-provement of feed efficiency and economic benefits in livestock and poultry production, and offer a theoretical basis for the molecu-lar breeding of high-quality livestock and poultry.
