Effects of Dried Lily Petal Meal on Production Performance,Egg Quality and Nutrients of Beijing-You Chicken
This study was aimed to investigate the effects of dried lily petal meal(DLPE)on production performance, egg quality and nutrients of Beijing-You chicken.A total of 180 healthy 35-week-age female Beijing-You chickens with similar weight and performance were selected and randomly divided into 3 groups with 3 replicates per group and 20 chickens in each replicate.Chickens fed with basal diet were labeled as the control group, and the experiment groups were fed basal diet with 2%and 4%DLPE supplementation respectively. The pre-experiment period was 1 week, and the formal experiment lasted for 6 weeks. The results showed as follows:①Compared with the control group, the average daily feed intake and feed to egg ratio in 4%DLPE group was significantly decreased(P<0.05).②Dietary DLPE could significantly increase eggshell color, albumen height, yolk color and Haugh unit of Beijing-You chicken(P<0.05),and the increase in 4%DLPE group was the largest.③ Dietary DLPE significantly increased yolk protein and lutein content(P<0.05),and the increase in 4%DLPE group was the largest;yolk cholesterol content in 2%and 4%DLPE group was significantly decreased(P<0.05).Therefore,dietary 4%DLPE significantly increased eggshell color, albumen height, yolk color,Haugh unit, yolk protein and lutein content, significantly decreased average daily feed intake, feed to egg ratio and yolk cholesterol content.
