Objective To determine the genetic diversity of Haemaphysalis longicornis and the phylogenetic relationship among different populations in order to provide a basis for the prevention and control of H.longicornis and tickborne diseases. Methods The genetic diversity of H.longicornis in China was preliminarily study based on the mitochondrial gene COL Results The results of haplotype diversity (Hd:0.810-1.000),nucleotide diversity (0.218-1.990),the Fst value (0.0213-0.4522),Tajima's D (-0.7245),and Fu's Fs (-2.454) together indicate that there was little genetic difference among different populations. Conclusion Phylogenetic analysis and haplotype networks revealed that populations of H.longicornis are expanding in different areas, but marked changes are not yet apparent.
