The Value of Curriculum Ideology and Politics in Developing Medical Students'Professional Ethics
Objective To explore the influnence of ideological and political education in the curriculum of medical students in cultivating their professional ethics,taking general surgery as an example.Methods From January to December 2020,in the teaching of general surgery in the clinical medicine major at Jiamusi University,no curriculum ideological and political reform was adopted,and 50 students from a certain class were selected as the control group;From January to December 2021,a curriculum ideological and political reform was adopted in the teaching of general surgery in clinical medicine at Jiamusi University,with 50 students from a certain class selected as the observation group.Compare the professional ethics scores,final exam scores for this semester,and teaching satisfaction between two groups of students.Results Before teaching,there was no significant difference between the two groups in the score of belief in seeking benevolence,selfless dedication and people-oriented principle(P>0.05).After teaching,the above scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The test scores and teaching satisfaction of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Adding ideological and political elements to the general surgery classroom can help improve the ideological and political level of medical students and promote the cultivation of their professional ethics.
