Application of PBL Combined With Mind Map in the Teaching of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Objective To explore the application effect of the teaching method of PBL(problem-based)combined with mind mapping in the teaching of"oral and maxillofacial injuries".Methods From August 2020 to January 2021,a total of 24 undergraduate stomatology students of grade 2017 in Binzhou Medical College were selected as the study objects, and were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 12 students in each group. In the teaching of"oral and maxillofacial injuries"in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the experimental group adopted PBL combined with mind mapping, while the control group adopted traditional lecture based learning(LBL)teaching. After the completion of the teaching task, the effect of the two teaching methods was evaluated by questionnaire survey and theoretical test. Results The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the students in the experimental group had improved their understanding of theoretical knowledge, clinical diagnosis and treatment level, independent learning ability, mutual cooperation ability,self-communication ability and classroom activity. There was no significant difference in the performance of theoretical basic knowledge between two groups(P>0.05).The results of case analysis in experimental group were better than those in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Students have a high degree of recognition for the teaching method of PBL combined with mind mapping, which improves students'performance in case analysis and enhances the teaching effect.
