Application of Handmade Technique in Teaching the Ear Anatomy
Objective To explore the application effect of handmade teaching of ear anatomy in young resident doctors of otolaryngology head and neck surgery.Methods From January 2019 to December 2022,a total of 22 young resident doctors in the department of otolaryngology,head and neck surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University were selected and divided into a traditional teaching group(n=11)and a handmade teaching group(n=11).The resident doctors in the traditional teaching group were only taught multimedia slides,while the resident doctors in the handcrafted teaching group were synchronously handcrafted anatomical models and received theoretical explanations under the guidance of the teacher.After the teaching,both groups of resident doctors were asked to complete theoretical exams and self-made subjective survey questionnaires for teaching effectiveness evaluation and subjective evaluation.Results The average theoretical exam scores of the handmade teaching group were significantly higher than those of the traditional teaching group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The handmade teaching group showed significantly better subjective acceptance of teaching knowledge,mastery of anatomical knowledge,stimulation of learning interest through teaching methods,cultivation of thinking ability,and overall teaching satisfaction compared to the traditional teaching group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Handmade teaching can significantly improve the teaching effect of the ear anatomy to junior residents of otolaryngology head and neck surgery.And Handmade teaching can enhance the students'learning interest and thinking abilities.
