Application of PBL Teaching Method of Residents as Standardized Patients in Clinical Teaching of Neurology Department
Objective To explore the application effect of PBL teaching method of residents as standardized patients in clinical teaching of neurology department. Methods Using the random number table method,62 trainees in the Department of Neurology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from June 2020 to October 2021 were randomly divided into a control group(31,traditional teaching method)and an observation group(31,PBL teaching method with resident trainees as standardized patients)for clinical residency training.Standardized patient training objects were selected from trainees who had more than 6 months of neurology rotation. The theoretical knowledge, practical ability, and comprehensive quality scores of the two groups of resident trainees after training were compared. Results The theoretical knowledge and practical operation scores of the resident training physicians in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The comprehensive quality scores of the resident training physicians in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application effect of PBL teaching method for resident trainees as standardized patients in clinical training and teaching of neurology is significant.
