Objective To explore the design and effect in ophthalmology courses with ideological and political elements.Methods A total of 54 students joined the ophthalmology courses with ideological and political elements,including undergraduate and postgraduates from Shanghai Jiao Tong University,School of Medicine from June to December in 2022,and 9 teaching teachers were selected to investigate the teaching effectiveness and improvement direction through questionnaires,and to analyze the application effect of integrating curriculum ideology and politics into the teaching design of ophthalmology.Results 79.36%students were satisfied or very satisfied with the integration of ideological and political elements in ophthalmology.79.63%students and 88.89%teachers agreed or fully agreed that ideological and political elements could improve the humanistic quality of doctors,and 81.48%students and 100%teachers agreed or fully agreed that this teaching method could broaden international perspective and strengthen the belief in scientific research.As for the most interested element and revelation obtained,the teacher thought that the most interesting ideological and political element was the famous ophthalmologist[(3.22±1.86)points],which was the least interested element for students[(1.93±1.65)points].Conclusion The integration of ideological and political education into ophthalmology teaching can achieve good results.But more attention should be paid to the timely feedback.Only in this way can we find out what students really need and achieve the ideological and political education with ophthalmology targets.
