Application of Interactive Death Anxiety Relief Workshop in Death Education of Nursing Students in Cancer Hospital
Objective To explore the value of interactive death anxiety relief workshop in death education for nursing students in cancer hospital.Methods A total of 42 nursing students from the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Harbin Medical University from February 2021 to December 2022 were selected to participate in the study and divided into 2 groups with 21 in each group according to random number table method.The control group was mainly taught by traditional teaching methods,while the observation group was taught by interactive death anxiety relief workshop.The scores of death anxiety,teaching satisfaction and attitude towards death were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in the score of death anxiety between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05).After intervention,the score of death anxiety in the observation group[(6.12±1.35)points]was lower than that in the control group,and the teaching satisfaction of nursing students was 95.24%higher than that in the control group(66.67%).The scores of death escape[(12.32±2.12)points],death fear[(18.35±2.12)points]and escape acceptance[(12.32±1.23)points]in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,while the scores of natural acceptance[(19.98±1.35)points]and approach acceptance[(28.35±1.3)points]were higher than those in the control group.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of interactive death anxiety relief workshop in the death education of nursing students in cancer hospital has obvious effects,which can enhance the participation enthusiasm of nursing students,improve their anxiety about death,and enhance their attitude towards death.They are satisfied with this teaching method,which can be used for clinical reference.
