Enlightenment and Comparison of Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship Between China and the United States
Standardized fellowship training is an essential part of graduate medical education programs;fellowship training is based on a standardized residency training program to cultivate physicians who can independently and normatively engage in the diagnosis and treatment of specialist diseases.Fellowship training is essential in strengthening physicians'medical knowledge and refining their patient care skills,improving the quality of medical services,which is a broad consensus in the international medical community.Pediatric anesthesia is a high-risk subspecialty in the anesthesia specialty,and clinical work is exceptionally challenging.Cultivating high-quality pediatric anesthesiologists significantly reduces perioperative mortality and the incidence of serious complications in children.However,pediatric anesthesia training in China is still in its infancy,and the training system and system could be better.In the United States,pediatric anesthesiology fellowship was the earliest established subspecialty.Its training program has been highly systematic and standardized.Based on our experience in pediatric anesthesiology fellowship and consulting the relevant information at domestic and abroad.We compared the similarities and differences in pediatric anesthesiology fellowship programs between China and the United States in terms of training objectives,application process,and training content in detail.Furthermore,we analyze the current situation of pediatric anesthesiology fellowships in China,which may provide references for pediatric anesthesiology fellowships in China.
