Application of PBL Teaching Method Combined With Three-Dimensional Reconstruction Technology in Neurosurgery Teaching
Objective To explore the application effect of PBL combined with three-dimensional reconstruction technology in clinical teaching of neurosurgery. Methods A total of 64 standardized training residents of neurosurgery from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were randomly divided into observation group and control group during June 2020 to June 2021,with 32 participants in each group. The observation group were used PBL combined with three-dimensional reconstruction technology for teaching. The instructor were imported the cranial multi-modal image data of the teaching cases into 3D slicer software to establish a visual three-dimensional anatomical model and showed the spatial anatomical relationship among the cranial brain, lesions, blood vessels and skull in class. The control group were used traditional multi-media teaching methods. The teaching effects of the two methods were compared through theoretical examination, operation examination and teaching satisfaction questionnaire. Results The theoretical and operational assessment scores of the observation group's resident trainees were better than those of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.001).In addition, the overall satisfaction with teaching, the degree of improvement in learning interest, and the understanding of cranial anatomy of the observation group's resident trainees were higher than those of the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.001).Conclusion The application of PBL combined with three-dimensional reconstruction technology in neurosurgery teaching has a good effect and is worthy of further popularization.
