Application and Exploration on Entrustable Professional Actibities in Pediatric Undergraduate Practice
Objective To explore how to apply the Entertainable Professional Activities(EPAs)to the practice stage of clinical medical education in pediatrics undergraduate,and improve the quality of practice training in pediatrics undergraduate.Methods A total of 56 undergraduate medical students were selected to participate in the department of pediatric internal medicine,Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from June 2021 to June 2022.They were randomly divided into control group and test group,28 in each group.The control group adopted the traditional practice teaching mode,and the test group added EPAs evaluation based on the traditional teaching mode.The training duration for both groups was 4 weeks.The differences of EPAs scores before and after practice were observed,as well as the differences of traditional teaching assessment scores between the experimental group and the control group.Results The scores of EPAs self-scoring,intermediate professional title teacher and senior professional title teacher in test group were higher than those in control group[(16.96±1.75)points vs(39.32±2.06)points],[(17.21±1.66)points vs(41.00±1.68)points],[(17.35±1.64)points vs(39.86±1.84)points],the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of medical history collection,physical examination,medical record writing,communication ability evaluation and total scores of experimental groups were higher than those of control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in physical examination and skill operation between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The application of EPAs evaluation in pediatric undergraduate practice teaching can effectively improve the quality of practice.
