Study on the Application of CBL Combined With SSE Teaching Method in Clinical Probation Teaching
Objective To evaluate the effect of case-based learning(CBL)combined with situational simulation education(SSE)teaching method in clinical medical probation, and investigate students'satisfaction with the learning process. Methods A total of 186 fourth-year interns majoring in clinical medicine in Binzhou Medical University from September 2021 to September 2022 were selected as the study objects and randomly divided into 2 groups with 93 students in each group. They were taught with CBL combined with SSE teaching method and traditional teaching respectively.Tests and questionnaires were conducted to evaluate the teaching effect and student experience after attending the internship course. Results The scores of case analysis and skill operation in the CBL combined with SSE teaching group were higher than those in the traditional teaching group[(33.62±3.72)points vs.(29.16±5.67)points,(25.49±4.19)points vs.(21.14±4.66)points],and the differencs were statistically significant(P<0.001).The CBL combined with SSE teaching group had better self-perceived ability and learning satisfaction than the traditional teaching group(96.77%vs.87.09%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).However,CBL combined with SSE teaching method occupied more spare time than traditional teaching[(3.46±1.22)points vs.(2.09±0.98)points],and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).Conclusion CBL combined with SSE teaching method in clinical probation teaching can effectively mobilize students'learning enthusiasm and provide immediate feedback, which may be an effective method to improve the clinical skills and clinical thinking of medical students.
