Application of Thinking-Pair-Sharing Teaching Model in Residential Training of Obstetrics
Objective To explore the application value of think-pair-share(TPS)teaching model in the standardized training of obstetrics residents(referred to as"resident training").Methods A total of 30 resident doctors who participated in the standardized training of resident doctors in the obstetrics department of Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January 2022 to December 2022 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into the observation group and the control group according to different training programs, with 15 resident doctors in each group. The control group adopted the traditional training mode, while the observation group adopted the TPS teaching mode. After the training, the theoretical scores of skills, critical thinking ability and student satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The theoretical scores[(89.71±4.67)points]and practical scores[(90.57±6.77)points]of the observation group were higher than those of the control group[(70.63±3.75)points and(68.44±4.76)points],the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).The scores of critical thinking items in critical thinking dispostion inventory-Chinese version(CTDI-CV)were higher than those in control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001),such as thinking openness, intellectual curiosity, cognitive maturity and self-information.The learning enthusiasm of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction scores of students in the observation group were higher than those in the control group on teaching methods, knowledge mastery, skill mastery and interest in independent learning, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).Conclusion The application of TPS model in the standardized training of obstetrics residents can improve the theory and skills of the resident training physicians, enhance the critical thinking ability and higher acceptance of teaching ability.
