Evaluation on the Application of Curriculum Ideological and Political Education in the Teaching of Spine Surgery
Objective To evaluate the role of curriculum ideological and political education in the teaching of spinal surgery,and further analyze its impact and significance on teaching.Methods A total of 50 students majoring in orthopedics at Jining Medical University from September 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the research subjects.The stage of learning spinal surgery knowledge used traditional teaching methods from September to December 2021 was before implementation,and the stage of learning spinal surgery knowledge after integrating curriculum ideological and political education into professional teaching from March to June 2022 was after implementation.The assessment scores,course interest,and teaching effectiveness evaluation of students before and after the implementation of course ideology were compared.Results The assessment scores of students after implementation were(82.04±5.50)points in anatomy knowledge,(83.44±4.76)points in lumbar disc herniation mechanism,and(81.38±4.60)points in sterile spinal surgery,all higher than those before implementation,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The interest rate of students after implementation(98.0%)was higher than that before implementation(80.0%),and the scores of various indicators of teaching effectiveness were higher than that before implementation,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Integrating curriculum ideological and political education into the teaching of spinal surgery is beneficial to stimulate students'interest in learning and improve their academic performance,and is of great significance for improving the overall teaching quality of spinal surgery.
