Status and Influencing Factors of Professionalism of Clinical Medical Postgraduates
Objective To explore the current situation and influencing factors of the professionalism of clinical medical postgraduates.Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted.The convenient sampling method was used to select 1 078 clinical medical graduate students of Harbin Medical University from July to August 2022.The general information questionnaire,Burnout Inventory-Human Service Survey(MBI-HSS),Revised Professional Practice Environment(RPPE)Scale and Professionalism Questionnaire were used to investigate.Multiple stepwise linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of clinical medical postgraduates'professionalism.Results The professionalism score of clinical medical postgraduates was(168.85±24.95)points,which was at a moderate to high level.The average daily working hours were(8.82±2.46)hours,the duty frequency was(1.57±1.83)per week,and the average daily sleep time was(7.00±1.08)hours.The main sources of pressure were paper writing and publication(42.27%),followed by clinical work(24.85%).In terms of occupational cognition,over 40%of students(40.12%)believed that choosing a clinical medicine major was for the sake of future life security;In terms of career expectations,more than half(60.56%)of students chose a major that allowed them to showcase their talents,and their careers were relatively stable.Job burnout was at a moderate level.The results of the univariate analysis showed statistical differences in age,clinical work experience,marital status,and participation in professionalism training,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of multiple regression analysis showed that the working environment,low personal achievement,work indifference,emotional exhaustion,average daily working hours,and professionalism training experience were the influencing factors of occupational spirit among clinical medical postgraduates,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The professionalism of clinical medical postgraduates was at a medium to high level.The factors influencing the professionalism of clinical medical postgraduates included the professional environment,low personal achievement,work indifference,emotional exhaustion,average daily work hours,and professionalism training experience.In the process of cultivating the professionalism of clinical medical postgraduates,educators should pay attention to creating a good professional environment,setting reasonable training objectives and workload,encouraging the development of professionalism-related courses and training,stimulating the honest and noble professional ideas of students,and cultivating students'positive professional quality.
