Objective To explore the practical effect of core competence-oriented nursing curriculum assessment system. Methods A total of 321 nursing undergraduates from the Shanxi Datong University were selected as the research objects.A total of 163 nursing undergraduates from grade 2018 were selected as the experimental group and 158 nursing undergraduates from grade 2017 were selected as the control group by convenience sampling method. The practice effect was evaluated by RE-AIM model. Results The total scores of good personal traits, clinical nursing ability, support and interpersonal communication ability, professional construction and self-development ability and core competency of experimental group[(32.11±1.22)points,(39.98±1.33)points,(20.12±3.32)points,(33.23±0.22)points,(134.12±2.22)points]were higher than those of control group[(30.54±1.65)points,(36.23±2.11)points,(17.78±3.11)points,(30.23±1.23)points,(129.98±2.10)points]and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the scores of theoretical and skill assessment of experimental group were higher than those of control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the interview results, the new assessment method strengthened theoretical knowledge and practical skills of students, helped to improve core competence of students, and is in line with the OBE education concept, but the future needed to be integrated with artificial intelligence, virtual simulation and other means. Conclusion The core competencity-oriented nursing curriculum assessment system conforms to the student-centered teaching concept in the new era, strengthens the theoretical knowledge level and clinical practice skills of students, and enhances the competency of students.
