Investigation and Study on Four Forms of Continuing Medical Education and Training in Ophthalmology
Objective To comprehend the opinions of ophthalmologists regarding ophthalmology continuing medical education,as well as to investigate current issues and propose solutions.Methods The survey unit was chosen to be a nationwide ophthalmology Wechat academic discussion group.From May 22 to June 6,2023,ophthalmologists were given questionnaires;in the end,110 questionnaires were included.Results A total of 43 males(39.09%)and 67 females(60.91%)were present.A total of 21 physicians(19.0%)39 attending physicians(35.45%),38 associate chief physicians(34.55%),and 12 chief physicians(10.91%)were present.108(98.18%)had taken online training courses,99(90%)had gotten offline short-term courses,106(96.36%)had attended various academic conferences,and 82(74.55%)had received additional study at other hospitals.Advanced study in different hospitals and short-term offline training courses received the greatest overall marks for training effect and popularity.Surgical video teaching was the most widely used method of instruction.The most sought-after instructional material included surgical techniques and the most recent advancements in science.The research objects'comments indicated that while the training material for additional study in other hospitals was thorough,the duration was lengthy.Short-term offline courses work well for surgical training,but the expense and depth of the course of study are prohibitive.Academic conferences provide access to the most recent cutting-edge knowledge,but there are few opportunities for practice;online courses are shorter in length and offer fewer possibilities for practice.The primary issues at hand are that there are currently more conferences and training sessions but fewer well-designed courses.Conclusion Every CME format has benefits and drawbacks of its own.In order to better serve the demands of clinicians and enhance the training effect,an acceptable teaching form should be selected based on the teaching material.
